Rating:
2.7

Synopsis:
On the crime ridden streets of Old London Town the law has been subcontracted and justice awarded to the highest bidder. But from the dark depths of despair and chaos, a hero is born.

A murder on the crime-ridden streets of Ostere isn't headline news
A vagrant running from conscription is common place
But this vagrant knew the deceased and was witnessed fighting with the deceased
So now the police want a word
   As do the killers
Ben Jackman, vagrant by day, hunter of road kill by night, isn't the man to take the fall
   Proving his innocence is obvious
   Finding the killer is crucial
But Ben needs a gun, a big gun with lots of bullets, because the seedy streets of Ostere have a new breed of criminal and they aren't looking to take prisoners

Review:
Hey everyone! Wow, summer is already halfway gone and I feel like I didn't accomplish anything! I have to finish my summer assignments for school and get started on my college applications. You know, it kind of sucks when the major you're looking for is brand new close to no colleges have the program you want... At least my top college does... it's just a matter of if I get in or not. I can't believe I'm a senior. For those of you younger: trust me, high school goes by so fast. At least it did for me. I had decent teachers and met amazing friends. I'm scared but excited to go away to college... if any of you out there are in college, what is it like?
Okay, onto the review. No More Heroes is a great, fast-paced book with lots of humor... but for me, I just didn't click with the book and it didn't help with making it an enjoyable read.
I found it hard to keep track of the copious groups and people. It took me about half the book to understand which is which and who belonged in which group.
I also felt that Roo did a wonderful job of describing the environment and creating a picture for me while reading the book. It was great that I had a good visual, but though the author excelled in creating a picture, he lacked in explaining why things are happening. Like in the beginning of the book, this huge attack against the police and a rebel group just started out of no where. Yes, it's obvious the people don't like the government officials, but I just wanted to know why. Why are they so mad? Why is there such a huge tension? There was no background of the whole history behind it. Maybe the story started with a bag being misplaced and an innocent man accused of murder, but I feel like there should be a plot building so I feel like I'm deep into the world and not just on the outside looking in.
There were also quite a few grammar mistakes that made it a little difficult to read as well. It's so much better in the long run if the book is proofread by a few people or had an editor give it a once over before it gets published.
I really loved the story and I feel that it has a lot of potential. The original story and the humor mixed in with the haunting feel makes for a good laugh. I just wish I connected more with the story and I'm sorry that I didn't.
I'm sure that the book is amazing and plenty of people will enjoy the book from page one. No More Heroes is definitely great for people who love a good, fast-paced mystery.
I hope you all aren't too mad about my review! See you soon with another one.
